Welcome

Looking Ahead 2013 – We are looking forward to the Year Ahead! May 11th will mark the official launch of our Inaugural AJCF Fundraiser Hike for Patient Support. The Alma J. Cameron Foundation for Cancer Awareness’ primary goal for 2013 is to support 50 underprivileged women of color in South Los Angeles, for integrative cancer treatment at the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology.

Did you know that just one thousand dollars ($1,000) will provide support for one person for a full year of services at the Simms/Mann facility? I know that together we will not only reach our goal, but exceed it.

Today, lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death among both men and women. More people die of lung cancer than of colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined.

Lung cancer mainly occurs in older people. About 2 out of 3 people diagnosed with lung cancer are older than 65; fewer than 3% of all cases are found in people under the age of 45. The average age at the time of diagnosis is about 71.

I know that together we will make a difference and continue to…

“Bridge the gap between conventional and integrative cancer treatments, one person at a time.”
